Description/Significance
Site preparation for a 185,000 square foot retail super center. The project was developed on a 53 acre site, requiring approximately 32 acres of clearing. Earthwork for the project required placement of 190,000 cy of fill material to bring the building pad and site to grade. Also required in the site preparation was drilling and blasting of 150,000 cy of bedrock, a portion of which was crushed to produce required site gravels, stone and rip rap. Construction of a new detention pond along with an expansion of an existing detention pond, storm drain piping and catch basin construction will handle the proposed storm water flows.
Connections to existing sewer and water services, multiple gravity block retaining walls, heavy duty concrete paving, bituminous concrete parking areas and landscape improvements complete the site work.
